We must commend Nigerian artists for putting so much effort into their craft in the year 2021. Almost every musician brought their A-game to all their projects and singles.

Dr. Dolor Entertainment signee, Teni joins forces with Afrobeats star, Davido on the hit single; an emotion-tinged slice of Afrobeats titled ‘For You.’ In just a few hours of its release, it became number one on Apple Music and Billboard charts.
For You is a story of crime, love, and loyalty. The music video was premiered back in February 2021 and it currently has over 16 Million views on Youtube. Directed by Dammy Twitch, For You is on Teni’s debut album, WONDALAND.

Marlian record signee, Mohbad captivates the hearts of thousands of music lovers across the globe with his single, ‘Feel Good’. The song generally speaks good vibes and indirectly passes a message to haters letting them know he’s unstoppable.
This song is officially a vibe, and the month of October would have been a tad bit incomplete without Mohbad’s Amapiano laced tune. Niphkeys takes production credit for the song.

Considering the chaos created by lovers of this tune on social media, ‘Alcohol’ definitely ought to be saved a spot on this list. The multi-talent, Joeboy almost got in trouble due to the manner in which his fans abused the #Alcoholchallenge.

High by Adekunle Gold featuring DMW label boss, Davido became the rave of the moment in its release months and obviously many months after. High propelled AG to make his debut appearance on ‘Billboards Charts stealing the number 7 spot at the time.
The video sees Davido and Adekunle Gold probably heading back from the club, but it seems to have been a dirty night, as they were both high and could barely remember how their night went. High music video has over 11.5 Million views on Youtube as we speak.

Off her debut album, 19 & Dangerous, Mavin’s new vocal powerhouse, Ayra Starr sets social media ablaze with the song “Bloody Samaritan”. Bloody Samarita preaches good vibes and stood as the Gen Z anthem for a long time. Both young and could vibes effortlessly to it.

Fine Boi Bella Shmurda came through with this addictive tune, Cash App in the year 2020, and we literally could not breathe without listening to this song. Bella Shmurda, Zlatan, Lincoln created a monster hit that comes with an epic video and Nigerians couldn’t be more thankful.
Cash App was like the average Nigerian happy pill and it did a lot to distract us from our issues. The song took the highest position on Apple Music Chart in December 2020. It also topped the chart on Youtube in 2021.

Bounce became an official anthem in the 1st half of 2021. An addictive tune from one of Nigeria’s most talented newbies, Ruger. It was released in May 2021 and the music video is close to 22 Million views on Youtube.

5. “Peru” by Fireboy DML
