Aribo, Bassey Named In Scottish Premiership Team Of The Season

Nigerian duo, Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey have been named in the official Team of the Season by the Scottish Premiership.

Aribo and Bassey were key figures in the Rangers side that won the Scottish Cup and made it to the final of the UEFA Europa League.

The Gers, however, surrendered the league title to rivals Celtic.

Aribo showed his versatility during the 2021/22 season by putting in strong performances as a box-to-box midfielder, right-winger, and false nine.

The 25-year-old scored in the Rangers’ Europa League final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt last month.

Bassey, who was named Rangers’ Young Player of the Season also enjoyed a remarkable season under manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The 22-year-old slotted perfectly into the centre-back position following an injury crisis in the team early this year.

Rangers captain, James Tavernier was also included in the selection.
