PSV manager, Roger Schmidt, has said that Ajax will not stop playing football simply because Erik ten Hag is moving to England to join Manchester United.
The 52-year-old Hag is in advanced talks with the Old Trafford hierarchy to become United’s new permanent manager.
PSV and Ajax, two greatest rivals are competing for league and cup this season, with the former four points behind the latter leaders in the Eredivisie table.
Schmidt is confident Ajax will survive losing Ten Hag to Manchester United.
Schmidt is also leaving his position as the PSV manager in the summer and would be replaced by Man United legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
“It always continues in football. It’s not (about) one player or one coach stopping working at one club,” he said according to talkSPORT.
“In Barcelona, (Lionel) Messi stopped one day and everyone saw they didn’t stop playing football. Now he’s at another club.
“For Ajax, if he (Ten Hag) really leaves, they will find a very good coach because it’s a great club.”
