Former Liverpool star, Graeme Souness has said he cannot understand how Arsenal would allow young striker, Eddie Nketiah leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.
Nketiah was the point man in Arsenal’s hard fought 2-1 victory over London rivals West Ham on Sunday.
However, it was goals from Rob Holding and Gabriel that boosted Mikel Arteta’s side’s top four hopes.
But Nketiah was impressive throughout and his performance caught former Liverpool midfielder Souness’ eye and he cannot believe the Gunners have allowed his contract to run down.
“Nketiah, I thought was the best player on the pitch today.
“He was always threatening, he had a couple of shots where he came in on his right foot and made the goalkeeper work.
“You always want him to run forward, stretch the defender. His contract is about to run out and I’m amazed at that, I really am.
“He will not be short of teams wanting him. I really like him, I thought he was fabulous.”
